From Motor City to Bike City, Detroiters are rewriting the mobility narrative of their city.

The birthplace of the automobile is not the most likely of places for a PBSC bike share system, but with the four wheels to the city that is putting you on two!

Detroit’s bike share system MoGo is smashing stereotypes and crushing projections. Since launching MoGo has exceeded expectations in ridership. It achieved more than 132,000 rides, surpassing its goal of 100,000 rides, six months ahead of schedule. More than 23,000 users, including ridership from every zip code in the City of Detroit, hoped on a MoGo for their commute or a joyride.

Together, 430 MoGo bikes clocked more than 437,000 miles since launch or the equivalent of 17.5 trips around the equator. We are blown away by the results but know this is just the beginning. Some of PBSC’s bikes in London have more than 60,000 miles on them and there’s no doubt in our mind that some of Detroit’s bike will hit that milestone too!

Not only did MoGo bike share get Detroiters moving with riders burning more than 18.8 million calories, or 5,370 pounds, it’s changing the world! MoGo offset more than 293,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions, or the equivalent of 28 passenger vehicles driven for one year.

PBSC is delighted to partner with MoGo, a non-profit organization striving to be the nation's best-in-class bike share system and a catalyst in making Detroit a leader in mobility. We are constantly amazed by the incredible initiatives they are taking to get more people on bikes.
