What is a bike share program and how does it work?January 17, 2022 — Global Impact, Technology
After the success of urban mobility initiatives in the buzzing metropolises of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, PBSC Urban Solutions has continued its journey up the coast of Brazil with the launch of another bike sharing service, this time in seaside city Vila Velha. This project is a joint effort realized by PBSC Urban Solutions in conjunction with local operator tembici., sponsored by leading financial institution Banestes as well as insurance provider SAMP, in collaboration with the city of Vila Velha.
200 bikes are now available across 20 conveniently located stations. It has never been easier to use bike sharing in the community, and users have the option to pay via the tembici app, online or directly at the docking station. The Bike VV is a brand new blue version of the FIT bike; Light, easy to maneuver and PBSC’s most accessible bike sharing model. The FIT bike has proven to be an efficient mode of transportation across the country, and its sleek, modern design is right in line with the aesthetic of the rapidly developing city of Vila Velha.
Bike VV is a welcome addition to the landscape of the coastal municipality, offering a new way to explore Vila Velha’s stunning beaches and renowned historic sites. There is no better way to tour the Praia da Costa than cycling the waterfront bike path, getting intimately acquainted with the sights and sounds of the neighbourhood. Bike VV is designed with both locals and tourists in mind, offering not only a convenient method of transportation but also striving to build a community among cyclists.
This new bike sharing system serves to further solidify PBSC Urban Solutions impact on urban mobility in Brazil, and we can’t wait to share more of this journey with you!
