Bike sharing in Clermont-Ferrand: an overview of our system
We are thrilled to announce the launch of a bike-share program in the beautiful city of Clermont-Ferrand. The magnificent, historic capital of the Auvergne region is getting an astounding bike fleet comprised of 680 ICONIC bikes and 57 solar stations!
Valence-Romans and Monaco’s bike share success showed us that the system was needed in French regions. With the beautiful Puy-de-Dome volcano close by, it was only a matter of time for us to introduce rent-a-bike in Clermont-Ferrand. With the collaboration of Citybike France, which was selected by the Syndicat Mixte des Transports en Commun de l’Agglomération Clermontoise (SMTC-AC), this long-term rental offer will most likely be enjoyed by tourists and residents alike.
The bike-share system will also sync the system with Clermont-Ferrand’s Oùra! Transit smartcard that will be used as a Tap & Go device at smart stations. Users will also be able to access the PBSC App to locate and rent bikes using QR codes.
Coming to Clermont-Ferrand in September 2021, our bike-share program will fit seamlessly into the already existing transit system. Our mission is to offer Clermont-Ferrand agglomerate a new, healthy, eco-friendly public transport system that supports their sustainable mobility goals. A bike ride in Clermont-Ferrand has never been so pleasant!
