PBSC’s Bike sharing service Now in Rio de Janeiro!

After taking Recife and São Paulo by storm, and in the wake of the largest Carnaval in the world, PBSC Urban Solutions is gearing up to launch yet another brand new bike sharing service today in the Cidade Maravilhosa. Jointly orchestrated with Itaú Unibanco, tembici. and the city of Rio de Janeiro, this latest green tech rollout represents the most important milestone of an unprecedented nationwide urban mobility initiative.

A total of 2,600 brand new PBSC bikes will be spread across the city and made accessible to locals and tourists alike through 260 solar-powered stations. Offering a multitude of access options such as a mobile application and credit card payments directly at the stations, the new system will be exceptionally accessible and convenient for all types of riders. Intercity memberships will allow registered citizens to access any of the tembici. operated systems across the county, and the 50k+ previous members will easily be migrated to the new system. Within this year, a fleet of over 9,000 PBSC bikes will be rolling in the streets of Brazil as part of the company’s world-leading and ever-growing portfolio.
