Montreal – PBSC Urban Solutions and Edward Inlow today announced that they have joined forces to offer cities in North America a new bike-share operating solution. The new company, named Shift Transit, will enter the market this fall with deep experience and product knowledge in the industry, ideally positioning them to deliver a world-class experience to both their riders and clients. Shift Transit will be headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

Edward Inlow has been a key player in the North American bike-share industry for years, starting with his role as founding General Manager of the Divvy program in Chicago and most recently as Vice President of Operations at Motivate – directly supervising ten bike-share systems worldwide with over 600 employees and 17,000 bicycles on the ground.  Edward is one of the industry’s most seasoned professionals in the planning, management, launch, operations and expansion of bike-share systems across North America. He has operated bike-sharing systems in Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Boston, Toronto, Seattle, Columbus, Chattanooga, and Melbourne, Australia.

“We are really thrilled to partner with Edward to provide our existing and potential customers with further options and new solutions for their needs, with unmatched experience, quality and service,” stated Luc Sabbatini, PBSC Urban Solutions CEO. “Edward knows this business inside-out, he knows where the improvement opportunities are and, most important, how to capture them. This announcement is another milestone in our strategy to maintain and further grow our leadership position in the bike-sharing market”.

Shift Transit will offer cities a unique one-stop shop solution with turnkey delivery, offering bikes, stations, software, station siting and planning, marketing, sponsorship procurement and minute-to-minute system operations.

“I am very excited to team with PBSC, the undisputed industry leader in bike-share equipment and a partner with whom I’ve had great success in the past, most notably with a home-run launch in Chicago and a successful expansion in Columbus”, added Edward Inlow, Shift Transit Chief Executive Officer. “This partnership will make it easier and more efficient to launch a bike-share program in North America and further encourage the development and reach of the bike-share movement therein.  Bike-share is a terrific way to get around urban environments and we want to further support the development of sustainable urban mobility solutions. I look forward to continuing to improve cities through bike-share with PBSC as a partner.”
