Austin revamps its bike-sharing solution
Known as the "live music capital of the world", Austin boasts a vibrant and modern culture. Home to rich Texan heritage, the capital of Texas is known for its vast green spaces and rolling hills; a perfect combination for bike riding. Austin’s bike-sharing revamp fits perfectly with the city's philosophy of combining nature and urban planning to invite residents and visitors alike to explore its charms in a new way.
Austin's new bike-sharing solution has been deployed in collaboration with our operating partner CapMetro, the city's public transportation company.
A 100% electric system!
The city is aiming to modernize its bike-sharing solution to best meet the needs of its citizens. As part of this renewal, the city has opted for a fully electric bike-sharing fleet featuring our popular E-FIT electric bikes. Fast and dynamic, our E-FIT is the ideal companion of daily commutes.
With a $20.6 million expansion project, the city will triple the size of its bike and station fleet within five years, making active mobility accessible to a greater number of people.
This project benefits from an $11.3 million grant awarded to the city as part of the Transportation Alternative Set-Aside (TASA) program. The goal is to invest in innovative, sustainable mobility solutions that encourage active, environmentally-friendly travel.
PBSC is delighted to partner with CapMetro to advance Austin's bike-sharing infrastructure, offering every rider an ecological, efficient alternative adapted to modern lifestyles.
